Gorgeous here in paradise. Seventy degrees, off-shore breeze, clear skies and even a surprising bit of surf that I got into this morning. San Diego had the year's first big rain while I was up in Canada this week and everything looks squeaky clean. Another big storm is forecasted next week and that will be enough to turn everything green for the winter.

The Canadian weather this past week was really good too. Seattle was the typical shitty and rainy on Monday, Calgary got about 4 inches of snow while I was there Tuesday/Wednesday, but it wasn't crazy cold and the roads were clear to drive. It was nice to see the snow for a day or two. Vancouver was just about perfect, sunny clear skies - just a little cold.

I'll report weather from Arizona when I am there next week for Thanksgiving. Supposed to rain there too.

I was born in Arizona, Foota and lived a part of my life there as a little one, it's funny, I forget a lot but I still remember quite a bit about when I was young there, I still have family there that I haven't seen since I was little but I keep up with them on Facebook. :x

Bitter cold right now. We're talking -12C roughly and falling. Snow came in earlier today with a lot of wind. Got around 3-4 inches or so at home, barely anything at work in Pueblo and the nearby mountain town of Rye just a few miles up the road got 10.

Moar heavy rain. I normally walk to the station each morning (25 mins) but I've had to abandon this a few minutes in, else I'll smell like a damp dog in the office.

Arizona was pretty rainy last week, but still nice. We got a ton of rain in San Diego last week and more forecasted tomorrow.

We ran into some snow coming over the mountains in San Diego on the way home last Friday. We stopped off at a truck stop so the kids could go out and make a snowball. I think that is the first real snow my son has experienced in the wild.

We had a little bit of car trouble at the top of the mountain where we stopped to play in the snow. My wife and I had to run into the gas station to go take a leak and I told the kids to go back into the car and I locked them in with the key fob. Apparently my daughter opened the door when we were in the bathroom triggering the car alarm. When I got back a few minutes later to the car the alarm wasn't going but my son narc'd out my daughter. When I went to start the car, the battery was completely dead. I am thinking WTF - did the alarm drain the battery? We were parked in such a way it would be very hard to get jumper cables to another car. When I opened the hood, I noticed the clamp from the positive cable lead to the battery terminal was completely off. I reinstalled it and the car started right up.

I wonder if the car alarm horn going off for a few minutes caused the battery clamp to vibrate off? It's almost like someone consciously removed it to turn the alarm off.

And to make it worse - after I got back into the car looking like a stud for quickly fixing the car in the freezing snow, I took off my rain jacket to throw it in the back seat and the little choker plastic piece that hangs on the string on the bottom of the jacket hit my wife directly in the eye and she screamed out FUCK!!! really loud in front of the kids.

It was a pretty bummer and weird way to end an otherwise nice family visit in Arizona.

Rain in December in Colorado? That's highly unusual, downright rare in fact.

But it does happen, it happened today where I'm at, the bulk of the moisture though was up in the mountains so the rain was very light.
