Then say we went to the "edge" of the Universe, what is on the other side? It certainly won't be a wall or barrier or some kind, that would imply another side.

Unless the Universe possesses some kind of wraparound topology where you reach the "edge" going outward only to be instantly transported to the other end going back in at which point physics now resembles Warner Bros cartoons.

But if there is a wall, barrier or border of some kind and there's something beyond it, even if just a void, how far does that go? Is it finite too? And if we reach the end of that, what is on the other side of that end? How far will that go? And so on and so on.

There is no space-time past the edge of the universe. Therefore it’s not “nothingness” or “void” past the edge, because there is no physical space there to be filled with nothing or anything.

Then what is beyond the edge? What is the Universe expanding into? If the Universe has a defined edge then it has a shape that can be observed from the outside. What is on the outside?

The universe is creating additional space-time by expanding. And I just answered your question. Of course it can’t be observed from the outside, because nothing could physically be on the outside. There is no 3D space there.

That implies that therefore the Universe is creating Something out of where was previously Nothing. How much Nothing is there? Is it a finite amount the Universe will eventually run out of space to expand into? Or is there an infinite amount of Something and Nothing at the same time beyond the edge?

Well, perhaps the universe will eventually stretch itself too thin and break apart. I would think the size constraint (if there is one) comes from within rather than without, because there is no without.

OK, so if only time is infinite and space shrinks and expands, then mathematically everything is possible and will happen.

I don't think there is consensus about what is beyond the observable universe.

Everything WITHIN the universe that's possible will happen given infinite time.

If you can think about it, it's in the net. Everything is possible in the net. Who needs universe. Universe sucks more than a space shuttles toilet seat.

But there won't be infinite time.

The expansion of the Universe is accelerating daily, and eventually everything will go so fast that it assplodes. It's not sustainable.
Either that or it will stop expanding. In both cases, there is no guarantee that any one thing will happen.

Furthermore, everything that happens still has to obey the laws of physics. Example: SG's mom will never break the world record for High Jump.

All of the existing rock matter would have to simply evaporate as the hummus magically pops into its place. It's a non-starter.

Actually hummus is a perfect starter.

What is Moon rock composed of..?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_rock

Looks like:

Calcium, Aluminium, Silicon, Oxygen, Iron, Magnesium and Titanium.

Hummus (AFAIK) is made of chick-peas, olive and sesame oil…

Which are just compounds of various elements (I imagine there’s a lot of carbon involved…).

Now…

…We know that nuclear fusion is the process by which atomic nuclei are combined to form one or more different atomic nuclei. That in fact, all of the elemental particles that exist within a solar system, were created from hydrogen, when (or shortly before) the star was born.

And we also know that nuclear fission is the process by which atomic nuclei split into smaller (lighter) parts (different elements).

So we know that it *IS* possible to change elemental particles at the nuclear level, into different elemental particles.

In order to turn the Moon into hummus, we just need to figure out how to carry out some very, *VERY* specific nuclear fusion operations, until we have turned all of the base elements from the constituent parts of Moon rock, into the constituent parts of hummus.

It *IS* possible to rearrange, add and subtract sub-atomic parts from atomic nuclei, and make different elements.

It’s just complicated…

But once we get the hang of it, it’ll probably end up being an App.

>*^*<

When we figure out how to rearrange entire moons to something else at a molecular level like that, can I set the Moon to be a pizza or a cheeseburger?

Pizza seems the obvious choice.

Top-down view of a burger is a bit dull...

Or maybe..:

Pizza at Full Moon; half-eaten burger at New Moon..?

I reckon hash is going to be easier than hummus...

Shall we just go with hash..?

Can we conclude:

It *IS* possible that Anything is possible.
