Who wouldn’t have been happy with basically a remake of BF1942 with the latest graphics tech?
With vehicle and infantry mechanics similar to BF3. That is, you can regenerate health (slowly compared to medkits/repairs) and vehicles have infinite ammo, but they spawn on the map and are destructible/stealable and they can get disabled and burn down to nothing if not repaired.
And yes, long walks/swims back to base to get a new one will be required.
Also, weapons fire would be built more to BF3 standards. (Assault/Battle/Semi-auto/bolt-action non-sniper) Rifles would be accurate and can dang near reach anywhere but snipers have the best accuracy overall but snipers wouldn't have perfect laser beams either (a nod to BF2). Machine guns can quickly become inaccurate in sustained fire off the bipod and stay accurate on it but like BF3 you manually need to deploy the bipod first to use it. (If you have it equipped.) They're usable in close quarters off the bipod in short bursts but are clumsy compared to rifles and SMG's. (Quick spread gain.) SMG's have very little recoil and good hipfire but deal low damage usually, especially at distance making them aggressive close quarters weapons, also their accuracy at distance wouldn't be very good, probably the worst outside of shotguns. Shotguns would be high damage up close and spread out buckshot can pepper multiple opponents at a distance but its efficacy fades with distance. (It may or may not be one hit kill, I'm leaning against one hit kill shotguns.)
Also, all weapons/gadgets are faction locked. No Americans with MP40's or Japanese with M1 Garands or Soviets with Carcanos or BS like that.
