Rumors are it's WW2.

Personally, count me out. After the piss-poor post-launch handling of BF1 and the Gamblefront fiasco, I have zero trust or respect in DICE anymore. They'll bungle it, screw it up, not just from a technical level with bugs and broken functionality galore but they honestly seem to have learned nothing from their last several games. They're probably going to introduce a god gun/god class like BF1's Assault + Hellriegal, or stupid role enforcement that cripples class ability to do anything else, and they'll probably fuck up on a million other things too like how they broke Conquest in BF1.

No reason at all to trust them.

I no longer buy new video games
It's just not worth the risk
I wait to see if they are infested with virtue signaling or loot crates
I give them month and then read the reviews

I'm getting watchdogs 2 and Wildlands next

BF3 was the last BF I bought, but Bad Company II was the last BF I thoroughly enjoyed. Just clean, simple shooting fun. Learn the skills, learn the layouts, enjoy. Some levelling sure, but no grinding, no buying shit. Just fun.

Funnily enough Wildlands has been the only game for a long time I've bought new. It's a game where I know exactly what I was getting for my money, so I part exchanged some other games for it, and once I was done I part exchanged that for some other games.

Will probably do the same with Far Cry 5 next month.

I refuse to buy/play any more BF games until they respect planes again. Runways, carriers etc. not this start in mid-air horseshit.

My rule of thumb for all things technology.

Make sure you all check out

www.humblebundle.com

Pretty sure all the FarCrys are on offer, and next months' bundle has Deux Ex and some other well known ones (£8 for a fuck ton of legit games....)

Maybe I jumped the gun
I will buy Rock Star games new
They haven't let me down yet

Speaking of Rock Star my GTA IV updated around a gig a few nights ago
Can't figure out what they did
The ten year anniversary is coming up in April so maybe that
Might have to go bowling with my cousin

Unfortunately it looks that way. Isn't BF1 basically a WW2 game anyways? Machine guns all over the place lel.
I was hoping for a Cold War era-ish themed war or just going back to Modern War but after the recent 4 years it doesn't make much difference. I thought I was going to like BF1 but they made the game so diluted, even more so than BF4. Nothing but a shallow Battlefront clone.

Although I admit flying in spitfires would be so epic and awesome WW2 experience I still have no hope for the series in the 'give everyone a trophy' direction that EA/Dice are going in. When developers kill challenge from a game, it then just becomes boring.

BF1942 + modern graphics + squading would equal win

Added: also needs the ability to run.

Never gonna happen. It'll just be BF1 with with WW2 weapons, but the magic of Coral Sea, Wake etc. will not be there because that would involve too much work and most gamers nowadays don't have the attention span to not be firing their weapon at least every second and getting a medal for it. It's a sad indictment, not just of gaming but of humanity and the universe as a whole. Good games will never be made again.

I wish someone would do Medal of Honor:Allied Assault again. That had some great maps, especially Omaha beach.
