We picked her up from Blackpool so trust me when I say Birmingham wouldn't be a problem.

The new foster couple will be more local.

Somewhat devastatingly we are going to have to decline doggos permanent residency in the Slacks household. We love her to bits, but the sheer strength and mass of her is posing some real problems, and she really, really hates other dogs. She went for our neighbours dog earlier and although the wife held on it was a close thing. And while I'm comfortable with her around my daughter (supervised of course) when my little girl plays big doggo wants to play too. So my little girl isn't really playing much at the moment so she doesn't get an overexcited 25kg dog jumping all over her.

I've no doubt things would get easier over time with training and as she got more socialised with other dogs but I don't think things would ever get great, merely manageable.

Utterly gutted, but it's the right decision for us and the dog.

:(

Mate, you're a fucking pussy! Of course the first day(s) with a dog aren't going to go perfect! That's what training the dog is for! Train the dog to not attack the neighbors' dogs (unless you want that :D ) and train the dog to be gentle around the kids. They never come home the first day perfect.

And 25 kg? My brother's dog is three times that size and is fine around 4 year olds. It's all in the training and reinforcement.

Again, stop being a fucking pussy!

My brother's dog is some kind of red dog. Don't know the breed. But the dog has the capabilities to be a hunting dog too. (But doesn't go hunting.)

Before we had seen Millie in the flesh (well, fur) we were sent some pics that put her next to a Mastiff and two St Bernards. She looked pretty piddly in comparison!

Sorry SG, not sure you are making your point clearly enough here.

Are you saying you *DON'T* like onions on cheeseburgers?

:-?

Yes, I don't like onions on cheeseburgers.

So you're telling us SG is it if you get a cheeseburger and they ended up putting onions on it then you feed it to your dog because you don't like the onions????

No. I just don't like onions that much. If I get a cheeseburger that has onions on it, I take it off to the side and eat the burger. I don't feed the onions to the dog.

And most of the time I eat cheeseburgers within range of the dog, I don't have onions anywhere near.

The rescue centre is still looking for a foster home for doggo, which is fine as we're in no great rush to say goodbye. She sent me flying today though; was making our way down a bank and she saw my wife and kid and wanted to say hello. I was caught off guard and did a brief superman impression.

I used to take two huge German Shepard doggos for walks. I'm smaller than you but they never overpowered me. However my fathers friend took them out for a walk. They saw a squirrel and she did the superman thing and broke her hip.......

You have a woman's umm everything. :D
