I was watching a documentary yesterday about how humans and other hominids evolved over millions of years with alcohol as a fundamental ingredient, and the harvesting of grains was most likely originally for beer — long before “bread” was ever conceived.

Basically, if you don’t drink, you are unnatural and an abomination.

If he was he must a been a whisky kinda guy because he never developed a beer gut from consuming too many carbs in beer. I've seen him in YouTube clips like the one below quite recently and he looked pretty good for his age.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: don't like the name Lawrence, only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence. From now on you're Gomer Pyle.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I'll be watching you.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Where the hell are you from anyway, private?
Private Cowboy: Sir, Texas, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Holy dog shit! Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas,

And a couple days ago the singer Avicii died.

I'm not sure anything of value was lost. I'm thinking not.

Philistine.

Avicii was a House DJ and Producer... And one of the brightest talents in the House Music scene of this decade.

Bit mainstream for my personal tastes, but have to admit to having used some of his tracks to get a party moving on more than a few occasions.

If you only consider valuable that which has direct relevance or interest to you SG: you're going to be living quite a poor life I'm afraid.

If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvellous victory." - Howard Zinn

And? Those types are dime a dozen. They're barely any more expensive or different than the next pop singer brought in off the street.

I've heard that type of moniker applied to no less than 30 different artists and singers in the past 10 years. None of them were anything really special, groundbreaking or worth remembering 20+ years later. It was applied to Soulja Boy and Justin Bieber at one point.

And that's why I'm not sure anything of value was truly lost. Yet another mainstream pop act not worth remembering.

Yes I do, and it's yet another little niche fad in music. Like trap and dubstep.

Umm, no, it isn't.

That you have connected Justin Bieber (pop) and Soulja Boy (rap) to House Music is a bit of a giveaway that you really don't know what it is...

Read up:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_music

Pretty much a defining characteristic of House Music is that you're only going to hear in clubs or at festivals... Any radio stations that play it will generally be Pirate stations... Or at best, a Friday or Saturday night "House" programme on the more youth-oriented FM stations.

House Music has about a gazillion sub-genres, all with their own leading proponents... None of which you will have ever heard of.

Guys like Avicii and David Guetta do cross over into the Mainstream consciousness from time-to-time. CamelPhat is just starting to make that leap now, so keep an eye out for him:

Here's an up-and-coming House DJ (who also happens to be a good friend of Holywoman's...). Try to focus on the music she's playing... It's a blend of Tech- and Progressive-House:

*THAT'S* House Music.
