So you are endlessly wishing him dead cause you don't like his personality or what? :-? Pretty harsh.

Or you believe the whole Russian overthrew the U.S. election fantasy? :-?

Or the fantasy that the U.S. is filled with legions of Neo-Nazi and Trump is blowing dog whistles and causing them to cause them to indulge in an orgy of hate crimes against the vulnerable? :-?

Or that he's somehow destroyed the rule of law and endangered Democracy? :-?

Or mad about the Paris Accords? :-?

Or cause it was supposed to be Hillary's turn?

You feel this way about other world leaders?

Lots of pieces being moved around ahead of the Democrats taking control of the House in January.

Have to remember Slacks that the U.S. Government functions like a business. That's why it can be shutdown; and why a shutdown can be threatened.

When the Dems take up their House Majority in January, they are going to use the Business of Government to go after Trump.

The intelligent rats are already deserting the Trump ship. And he's going to try and win the game by playing it with fewer pieces.

Isn't it the Senate Democrats who are threatening the shut down?

The House just passed the spending bill with $5 billion for the wall and border security. It is totally up to the Senate to pass the House bill. The Democrats don't have a majority in the Senate and they are losing even more seats in a few weeks when the new congress comes in.

So the minority party (Democrats) are going to shut down the government because they don't want to secure our borders. $5 billion is fucking loose change in the monstrosity of the US Federal government budget.

Trump is right on this.

I'm not happy about this at all. Especially Mattis leaving.

But I can't say I am totally surprised. Trump ran on this.

And unlike any politician in my adult lifetime, Trump actually manages to follow through on his major campaign promises.

I might be mis-remembering, but I thought one of Trump's major campaign promises was the he would force the Mexican Government to pay for the wall.

I think he also ran on the populist Reagan line, that "Government *IS* the problem."

But now he is threatening a Government shutdown, unless the U.S. Government pays for the wall.

Trump has had 2 years to try and get a Republican controlled Congress to pay for the wall, and has failed. He knows no Democrat controlled House is going to pay for it.

So Trump can just add that spending item to any appropriations bill he wants to block.

Why didn't the Republican Congress authorise this expenditure Foota?

You are right. Mexico is not paying for the wall, but we did get some major concessions. Like this one below.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/20/us/p ... rants.html

One of the biggest immigration scams are illegals claiming refugee status and then let free in the US and never returning for their asylum court cases. Now they have to wait in Mexico for their court cases to be heard. That is a really big deal. I think we got Mexico to do this because we just gave them several billion to secure their southern border from Central America.

Technically, it is the Senate Democrats threatening to shut down the government over a measly $5 Billion on the wall. The funding passed the House and Trump will sign it. We just need the Senate to pass it. But the minority power Democrats have enough votes to block it. So they are the ones playing politics with the shut down.

Holyman wrote:

There are alot of Chamber of Commerce Republicans who are still backwards on immigration. That said, Republicans passed some expenditures for border security, but Republicans still didn't have the 60 votes in the Senate to get it done with Democrats blocking it.

Most Republicans would run and shriek at the notion of a shut down over Christmas. But Trump is crazy enough to stare them down. We'll see where it goes.

"ASHEVILLE — On Thursday, a group of local hemp advocates celebrated a $867 billion farm bill authorized by President Donald Trump.

The 2018 Farm Bill, a sweeping piece of legislation, bolstered farmers with the passage of The Hemp Farming Act of 2018, bipartisan legislation delisting hemp as a controlled substance and allowing for the continued growth of North Carolina’s hemp farming industry.

"The biggest takeaway is that hemp is now classified as an agricultural commodity," said Blake Butler, Executive Director of the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Association."

A partial US government shutdown has taken effect after US lawmakers failed to break a budget impasse.
Mr Trump, who has to sign off any deal, is insisting at least $5bn (£4bn) in government funding be included to help build his long-promised US border wall.
Lawmakers adjourned from last-minute talk efforts on Friday evening.
In the absence of an agreement, funding for about a quarter of all US federal agencies lapsed at midnight (05:00 GMT Saturday).
It means the departments of Homeland Security, Transportation, Agriculture, State, and Justice will begin to shutdown and federal national parks and forests will also close.
The partial shutdown, the third of 2018, means hundreds of thousands of federal employees will have to work unpaid or be put on temporary leave.
In a video address published on Mr Trump's Twitter account shortly before the shutdown began, the president insisted the onus was on the Democrats to resolve the closure.
Senior Democrats have accused the president of provoking the shutdown with a "temper tantrum".
What is the row about?

detailed article of the failure of a funding bill

If I am interpreting this correctly, because Trump worked directly with Republican hardliners who stuck in the 5bn wall funding instead of working with Republican leadership who knew what would pass through Congress the failure was inevitable. Ryan put forward the bill including the 5bn wall funding knowing support was not there in the Senate.

The world's best government is shut down
How's everyone holding out?
Is Canada still a country?
Did the chinks take Australia?
WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING111111!!!111

Does the rest of the world just take the day off tomorrow?
How does this work?
Can I still go buy a ham?
