Weirdly warm earlier this week to the point of wearing shorts. Less warm now and damp.

Tasmania and Hobart together reached a record high for March (still summer here). Hobart reached 39.1C (102.38) at about 1pm yesterday, breaking the state and capital record by 1C. Later Cape Bruny broke the state record with 39.7C (103.47F).

Fortunately, chez Sid is air-conditioned, so it was a comfortable 22 inside...outside was bloody hot and windy.

Our February was all over the place, but it was more cold than warm.

And March is starting out extremely cold. Unusually cold. We got 4 inches of new snow in the past 2 days but we have temps right now of 6F (~-14C). Normally this kind of cold breaks and ends about 10 days ago, the snow in March changes over to very wet stuff and it rarely if ever gets below -10C.

At least I got a snow day out of it from work owing to extreme black ice on the roads and the fact it might not get above 14F (-10C) today.

March continues to be wet.

It has been raining for most of this morning and it's expected to turn to heavy heavy snow later today. Windy as fuck to go with it to the point that blizzard conditions exist along the Palmer Divide and areas that way, quite a few roads have closed.

My rain gauge outside has gotten just over .8 inches of rain since Sunday. (This pattern began late Monday-early Tuesday)

Normal moisture for the month of March in my part of Colorado is roughly 2 inches flat.

Usually it is perfect - but this has been an unusually wet winter with most of the storms occurring on the weekends fucking up my surf plans.

The next few weeks will be epic as we are getting a "super-bloom" in the deserts and valleys. Everything is bright green and lush right now.

Nice and warm here, be perfect if it wasn’t for a bit too much breeze.

Was able to stand on the beach in shorts, look back and see the snow coved mountains in all their glory.

Love being able to see the snow packed mountains from the beach during the winter. I finally got to surf this morning. Waves were meh and the water was freezing, but it was so nice to get out there for a bit. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer.

Rumor has it it's going to rain this week. The ground's been nothing but mud since last week's blizzard.

But I'll take it even though I saw last Tuesday the mountains are gorged with snowpack and mud season has set in. Meaning I'm expecting high water over this next month on the basins of St Charles river, Greenhorn creek, Hardscrabble creek, Apache creek, Texas creek, Grape creek, the Cucharas river, the Huerfano river and ultimately the Arkansas river especially below Pueblo where most of that meets up as tributaries. The Wet Mountains and the Sangre De Cristos this year have gotten at least 10 feet of snow for the season and much of that still remains up there.
