BLIZZARD! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BLIZZARD!

Ok I'm only partially lying. It's a blizzard, but it's not horrible it's welcome. Got about 2 inches of new snow so far and coming down hard. From what I understand, this'll probably be a quick one though so I shouldn't expect much more.

Snow's back and had a bit of ice to go with it a little earlier. Currently about -5C (23F). Predictions are expecting upwards of possibly a foot of snow and as low of temps by Wednesday morning of -20C (-4F).

Got 5 maybe 6 inches of snow right now and still coming down. And I gotta go to work early as a result.

At this rate this season, we'll hit the seasonal normal by this month's end and we'd still have the snowiest months of the year in March and April to get through.

I suppose the alternative of nothing is worse.

And it preferred my way this time. I ultimately got around 7-8 inches. Most of the big numbers over 8 inches and upwards of a foot were in the Wet and Sangre De Cristo mountains both ranges are very near me.

Been bitterly cold since Tuesday's snow. Yesterday morning at 630 it was -12F (~-24C), this morning it was about -2F (~-19C).

Today is supposed to warm up into the 40s, close to 50 (10C) with a little bit of wind but it won't last. More snow is predicted albeit light tonight into tomorrow.

Bit cold. Sunny.

Added: But we do have a weather warning for Saturday night/Sunday morning for wind. Up to 80mph on the west apparently, which is blowy for us. Might hit 50ish round where I live.

Hopefully some trees will fall down so I don't have to visit the in-law on Sunday :-bd

We had record cold yesterday. It hit 34 degrees at the airport and along the coast.

It is sunny with beautiful clear skies, but no cloud cover or humidity to keep the warmth in.

That's something that's going to start coming to mind in my area in a little over a month when the runoff season begins. The mountains and us have had a noticeably wetter than normal winter with quite a bit of snowpack building up. If it warms up really quickly and spring in Colorado has a tendency to do that, all that snowpack can melt quickly as well meaning for a month or two we get really high rivers and creeks and flooding in lowland/flatland areas. Almost every spring it floods in floodplain towns and communities like Avondale along the Arkansas river on the plains.

But for now, I just have to put up with really cold and another fresh inch or so of new snow.

Saw lots of downed wooden fences and a couple of trampolines in the wrong garden on my walk to the station this morning, so I guess it was reasonably blowy last night.

Trains are running on time still though, which was a bit of a surprise.

Still cold. Snowed again yesterday though not a lot. Tonight it's supposed to drop upwards of a foot my way.

If it weren't for the fact we're getting excellent moisture this year, I'd ask for summer already.
