Had a really warm week this past week but today it is finishing up snowing with about 4 inches on the ground of heavy wet spring snow.

The storm came into the Pueblo area when I was leaving work and it was raining, hailing, snowing and lightninging all at the same time. I even heard before that there was a tornado out by Highway 24 in El Paso County further north.

After 11 days or so with mostly warm weather and a little bit of rain, the snow returns once more. Presently having blizzard conditions and at least 3 inches of new snow.

But it's April, it can and does do that kind of flip flopping of the weather. One day it'll act like summer such as how yesterday was, the next it'll go right back to winter like today.

Sometimes it does all four seasons in a single day and all of it unpredicted.

Pretty much weather perfection in San Diego the last few weeks since the rain stopped and it came just in time for my Dad's annual visit. I got to take him to one of my conferences in Palm Springs last week and it was nice there too, only about 85 degrees.

Snowed mightily yesterday at times. But the ground and air temperature was too warm for much accumulation. Now everything's varying degrees of mud today.

Good. Let the wet weather continue for a few more weeks because once May gets here it's gonna get HOT in a hurry. Hot and dry until the summer monsoon.

Rained again, here at home and on the mountain. Didn't rain at work though. Boo.

Was nice and warm about 61F (~16C) when I left work but was 41F (5C) when I got home.

Raining good. New grass to restore lawn ravaged by EUROPEAN beetles is now sprouting.

For those outside the UK, here's a HD version of David Attenborough narrating a documentary that aired on the BBC a day or so ago.

Yup everyone should watch it.

Been a glorious day today not a cloud in the sky. Had a pleasurable walk on the canal and woods.

Raining, yet again. Possibly might turn to snow by morning but no real accumulation is expected if it does, the ground is too warm.

I'm expecting one last snowstorm before summer sets in in about 3 weeks. But given how late it is in April, it's becoming increasingly unlikely with every passing day. Snow in May is possible and has happened many times in the past 25 years but is always unreliable.

On the mountain however, it can snow into June at the higher elevations and well into May on the middle. I've been in snow at 9000 feet on May 23, I've seen snow at 10,000 feet on June 10. I've heard over in Leadville deep in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, they sometimes get upwards of a foot of snow around July 4. And yes some mountains in Colorado can get snow all year long. The only month I've seen the Wet and Sangre De Cristo mountains in Colorado remain snow-free is July. All other months I've seen or been in snow on them.
