^^^Just about to say, leave em to it (after offering duty bound advice...), they'll come off, and they'll either land on it, or it'll land on them. Compound fracture in moving salt water, mmmmmmm.

Its them hitting a swimmer thats a worry. There is this dude in Brighton who spear fishes, he tows his own little raft flying alpha (divers below flag). I think thats awesome.

There was a video shared on one of the cruising forums recently of 2 jetskiers buzzing a canoe just for fun, going at him at full speed the turning at the last minute to try and swamp him with the jet.
Far too close and dangerous , the fucking morons. Thankfully somebody videos the whole thing & called the cops. By the time the wankers came to shore they were busted for reckless endangerment.

Other nice story was they did it to a windsurfing mate of mine, unfortunately the decided to do it to a guy we called "Hard as fuck Trevor", so Hard as fuck Trevor went to shore & waited, when the jetwanker came ashore, Hard Trev grabbed him by the face guard of the helmet, pulled it down and inch or 2 then broke his nose through the face hole in the helmet :)

Spring is here, which means undending wind and bugger all flying rc models, so I just picked up X-Plane 11 on Steam (I'm sick of MS Flight Sim X and its crappy interface).

There's a free demo for anyone interested at: https://www.x-plane.com/

...and it's "Fall" in North America. I always imagine Mullet slipping up on thawing ice and doing epic face-plants. :))

Meanwhile in Oz, it's raining with flooding here down south, while there are major bushfires up north in NSW and Queensland - lots of houses gone.

For those who don't have dedicated rudder pedals, but do have a steering wheel and pedals, you can use the clutch and accelerator as rudder pedals on flight sims. X-Plane has a plugin called xtoebrake2yaw which will combine the two axis to one channel for use as rudders. You get both rudder pedals and, if you press both pedals at once, you get toe brakes as well. :D

Needs a free account to download.

I’d like to get a good setup with rudders and droppable bombs. Right now all I have is a cheap joystick that is pretty meh. Oh, and TrackIR of course.

May get the new Bodenplatte expansion for IL-2. Lotsa new Western Front planes like P-51, P-47, P-38, Spitfire, Me 262.

I just need to get over my computer aversion somehow - still don’t like the stupid things.

Yeah, I gotta get TrackIR. Though for EuroTruck sim I use three monitors, which is fun, but a real pain to set up. Rudders cost a fortune for what they are, as do control yokes and throttles for flight sims.

Just picked up IL-2:BS; loving it so far, but surprised there are only 1 or 2 active servers and they're both in Europe.

Let me know if you end up getting it Mullet.

Oh yeah I have that already, as well as Moscow and Kuban. It’s not super popular in NA yet due to no Murrican planes (until Bodenplatte). There is the P-40 but only Someguy thinks that’s a good plane.

Yeah everyone plays on one of the two servers, but I generally prefer offline play anyway as people annoy me. Mostly I like goofing around with the camera, making videos and screenshots etc from my last mission.

Bodenplatte isn’t out yet, but you can pre-order it and get some of the new planes already.

Ah nice. $50 seems a bit much for DLC, do they add a lot of single player content besides the new planes?

I guess when you're the only legit combat flight sim on the market you can charge whatever you want lol

Nah for what you get, it’s basically the same game with a new map and some more planes. Not great ‘value’ but I consider it an investment into an important project... if you want it cheaper you just wait for the sales which happen a couple times a year. I got Moscow for like $30 I think and had some good fun with it.

There's always World of Warplanes or War Thunder if you want cheap thrills.

I've got IL-2 S Battle of Stalingrad, Cliffs of Dover and Cliffs of Dover Blitz. Cliffs of Dover was buggy as hell when it first came out, but it works OK now. Blitz is fun, as I get to shoot down Stuka's and their dropable bombs with my Spitfire. :-bd [X++X] [X++X] [X++X]

I do have quite a few hours in War Thunder and WoW and the arcadey splodey modes are fun, but I need realism and very few people played the full real modes when I was last on them.

Same for me. Plus it burns that I had a PPL and fly aerobatics patterns in FPV on rc models, but still get my ass handed to me by ten year olds who play the games 15 hours a day. :))

With IL-2 S it's an accomplishment just taking off on a rough strip in a Bf109, so like Mullet I only play offline. The cockpits are truly amazing, as is the shadows over the instruments etc. I just wish you could pop in photorealistic scenery like you can with FS-X and X-Plane (maybe you can, I haven't really checked out the mod community).

New Scripted Campaign - Pre-Order Achtung Spitfire Today!
Achtung Spitfire! is a 20-mission single-player Scripted Campaign featuring a fictional storyline that is inspired by historical events. Your character is a young Russian pilot from Siberia serving on the North Caucasus Front in late May 1943. The campaign features missions inspired by the Soviet 37th and 56th Armies attack on the German 44th Army Corps west of the city of Krymskaya. Your regiment will be flying the famous British-built Spitfire Mk.Vb which was loaned to the Red Air Force via the Lend-Lease program. Meeting Spitfires in the skies of the Kuban region came as quite a surprise to the Luftwaffe!
You are assigned to the 57th GIAP, which was part of the 216th Mixed Aviation Division of the 4th Air Army, an elite Guards unit. Your regiment is deployed to Slavyanskaya airfield, near the town of the same name. Experience fierce aerial combat in the skies above the picturesque Northern Caucasian region of the Soviet Union. Defend coastal ports on dawn patrols, escort friendly bombers over enemy territory and help suppress AAA batteries, but always be on the lookout for enemy fighters!

Achtung Spitfire will be released soon in an upcoming update and was created by our friends at The Syndicate. You can make a pre-order by visiting our Official Webstore HERE.

And please remember, by purchasing items like our Scripted Campaigns, you support a myriad of development goals and initiatives, everything from hiring more personnel and contractors to supporting third party partnerships that can lead to additional content and development tools. We thank you for your continued support!

And before we get back to work, here are some never before seen screenshots of the P-38J-25 and P-51D-15 and the A.I. B-25 in action! You can see even more in our latest Dev. Diary found HERE.

It'll be all sold to one person. I'm not selling to random folks.
