The irony of this photogenic species (Northern Hawk Owl) is that although they can be near impossible to find, they have absolutely no fear of humans and will give you all kinds of photo ops when you do finally find one.

I took hundreds of this guy the other day.

Some bird species will actively follow humans. Swifts do it here for example...it's because we stir up insects for them to spot and catch, so they will dart quite close as you walk through a park. Kookaburras will often come and sit in nearby branches when people mow their lawns, as do blackbirds.
