Wow this is Battlefront 2 bad...
Some of you might not be aware of this but, Patrick Soderlund, a EA Chief Creative Officer recently said during an interview that "BFV protesters are uneducated". Basically narrowing the whole BFV controversy down to "misogyny".
[My 13-year-old daughter] plays Fortnite, and says, 'I can be a girl in Fortnite. Why are people so upset about this?' She looked at me and she couldn't understand it," Sonderlund said. "And I'm like, ok, as a parent, how the hell am I gonna respond to this, and I just said, 'You know what? You're right. This is not okay.'"https://www.usgamer.net/articles/ea-on- ... y-the-game
It's like a parody now. This is the second time that DICE/EA have used this phrase already. He's childish enough to pretend to his daughter that WW2 was a sweet lovely place where equality and values were a must. Parenting like this is the main reason some int he world are mentally ill.
^ btw: this isn't the first time an EA developer has dismissed valid criticism as "bigotry". https://i.imgur.com/u1rcy3G.jpg
This can't be further from the truth, female soldier was only a part of a bigger complaint about the game's flashy cosmetics. During the first reveal trailer, the Kratos looking naked guy and the soldier carrying katana to name a very few were also laughed at because of the Fortnite-ish silliness of it all. This is the very same corporate suit who went out of his way to protect the canon, the theme and authenticity of star wars Battlefront 2, but not wanting history whitewashed by shoehorning modern conceptions of diversity into a historical setting of WW2.
EA wants us to complain about women, because they can paint us in a negative light in this way. They can label us as a loud minority who is just the society's deplorables, so our opinion and support flies out of the Media's articles. EA DOESN'T WANT YOU to focus on the actual bigger problem, that is the total lack of WW2 aesthetics and why outlandish customization is there at all in the first place.
In essence, BFV's customization is all about the profitable microtransactions. But they rather risk offending a whole community than telling the blunt truth about microtransaction. that's all it is, it's that simple.
As this analyst guy stated on another BF forum:
EA is rolling the DICE, betting on attracting fortnite players over to the franchise with micro-transactions, skins and customizations. Battlefield fanbase experiences its largest shift in history. So they don't care about the feelings of old fans, WE ARE NOT THE AUDIENCE. This is an extremely risky business plan but if it worked for Activision's COD, Fortnite then it's a comfy bet for EA and their shareholders. They don't want your money, they want all of your money.
Yeah no, fuck them in the ass with a very prickly pine cone.
It's sad really because there many interesting features brought back into the series that increased some
of the skill only to be messed up by very bad anti-consumer practices and cartoon aesthetics.
