The Chinese government failed horrendously in their handling of coronavirus.
Unless anyone disagrees, let's move on to our governments handling of the crisis.
Foota and Midnight, how would you judge your government's handling of all this?
Hindsight being 20/20 there's always room for improvement. After all due to China covering this up and giving us, who knows what type of disinformation and covering up what was really happening with the virus in their population. This definitely made some difficulty in acting decisively since no one knew whether it was complete overreaction or the coming apocalypse.
Also in general in all levels of government as well as the previous administration there's always a lack of disaster planning when the crap really hits the fan and things get turned up to 11. Again it's hindsight being 20/20, everybody from the previous administration to state and local governments, and individual medical facilities have a budget and priorities and it's a difficult balancing act trying to justify real-world needs with preparing to mitigate hypothetical future events.
Top that off with a media that spent the last 4 years trying to ramp up the Hysteria not only to try to affect political change but also to desperately keep people engaged in their failing business model.
So I guess during the most essential time to act you could say our government failed here because they were fully engaged in a bogus attempt to impeach the president and even once the president called for a travel ban, half the government called it racist and an attempt to deflect attention away from their bogus political power grab.
Despite the hysteria being promoted on TV news and by some politicians, no American has yet gone without a ventilator or hospital bed. Decisive actions have been taken to attempt to reduce the spread as well as efforts to produce or procure additional resources especially protective gear and ventilators.
Chuck Schumer, Nancy pelosi and AOC aside. Most of our government officials have been working together to try to deal with this situation.
Under Trump's leadership private enterprise has been motivated to meet the needs of government and the public, The federal government has been there to support the states, not take them over and militarized everything. Trump's daily briefings have been very transparent, two hours of ask us anything everyday. He's let the experts really speak to the public and the briefings overall have been very positive and provided a strong message of hope.
Considering that China dropped a bomb on the world infected a huge amount of people worldwide, I'd say local, the state and the federal government as well as the president have done a pretty decent job in trying to handle the situation.
Doesn't help that going into this there are huge amount of unknowns, and we still have situations like in Italy where it's full on end of days and The data doesn't match The trend of other countries.... At least not yet.
